On the morning of 5 September, the second academic salon of the Hydrogen Energy Facilities and Engineering Branch of the Chinese Civil Engineering Society (hereinafter referred to as the Hydrogen Energy Branch) was successfully held at the Foshan Environment and Energy Research Institute. Dozens of representatives from the Sixth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group (CASTG), Xi'an Aerospace Power Research Institute (XAPRI), Guangdong Energy Research Society (GERS), Xi'an Aerospace Expedition Fluid Control Company Limited (XAEFCO) and Hydrogen Energy Facilities and Engineering Branch of the Chinese Society of Civil Engineers (CSEHE) were present at the meeting, with a total of more than 600 participants online and offline. The participants of the Youth Academic Salon were invited by the Secretariat of the Hydrogen Energy Branch, or recommended by the hydrogen energy industry related enterprises or self-recommended by the Secretariat for screening, and the participants were long-term practitioners in the field of hydrogen energy, and had certain advanced research results.

China Civil Engineering Society Hydrogen Energy Facilities and Engineering Branch is the first professional branch in the energy field in Foshan approved by the national level society - China Civil Engineering Society organisation, China Civil Engineering Society has gone through more than 110 years of glorious years. At present, the Society has more than 2,000 group member units, individual members of nearly 100,000, the Society is actively committed to the academic activities of brand building, while creating a comprehensive, high level of professional areas of focus on academic conferences.
Since 2024, Hydrogen Energy Branch has been actively organising academic exchange activities for young and middle-aged scientists in the field of hydrogen energy, with the Youth Academic Salon as the main hand. In the first half of the year, the first phase of the academic salon has been carried out in Beijing, and the second phase of the Youth Academic Salon invited four guests to deliver keynote speeches on the status quo and future development direction of hydrogen production by electrolytic water, and Shen Jiong, General Manager of the PEM Division of Cawolo Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. of Guangdong, was invited to participate, and he shared the technological progress and problematic challenges of hydrogen production by PEM, as well as the exploration of the industrialisation and commercialisation of the hydrogen production technology by PEM.

Cawolo specialises in the research, development and manufacture of PEM proton exchange membrane electrolysis water hydrogen production equipment and core components and key materials, and independently masters the core technology of PEM electrolysis tanks and membrane electrodes. In the past few years, Cawolo has won the support of many hydrogen production enterprises by virtue of the first-mover advantage in the core technology of PEM electrolysis hydrogen production, and has tested and applied the PEM electrolysis equipments in many scenarios both at home and abroad, and so far the operation has been stable and the initial role has been completed.The first half of Cawolo PEM electrolysis equipments has been mainly focused on the scientific research and technological research and development, and has now entered into the second half, how to base on the PEM electrolysis equipments, and how to build on the PEM electrolysis equipments?
Shen Jiong talked about, at present, the PEM electrolysis tank has entered the early stage of commercial promotion, in the demonstration process by playing its dynamic response speed and other aspects of the advantages, can be in more scenes with application space. We also look forward to the future market can provide more scenarios, to provide us with the opportunity to apply the practice of PEM electrolysis equipment commercialisation path, in all aspects of the support, PEM electrolysis hydrogen commercialisation process will become faster and faster.
